This week the advanced reading class began its study of A Wrinkle in Time. This science/fantasy book was written by Madeleine L'Engle and appeals to middle schoolers as the main character, Meg, struggles with some of the same identity issues that typical pre-adolescents experience. The book is also great for advanced learners because many of the characters are labeled different or difficult as a result of their expectationality. I look forward to dissecting the following themes with your student: What it means to be gifted
Good vs. Evil
The power of friendship and love
